This season sees a successfully established church football team move to play for Lordshill Church. A celebrated team: winners of the Solent Church Football League in 2008 and taking second place in 2007 and 2009.
In the last couple of years we have been delighted that so many players want to play for the Church football team. We regard this as an outreach, but place major emphasis on the discipline of our teams. We have had players want to join us for this very reason after being sick and tired of the aggressive and foul mouthed nature of other league football.
We have a committed squad and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, we play competitively, with a passion but generally keeping within the ethos of church football and would welcome any enquiries from players fed up with the current discipline in football. Church football is not set out as something that is soft or weak. It is for blokes who like a physical and mental challenge of playing football hard and fair.
We do believe that as a church, we need to offer a facility where men can come together to improve their physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual sides. This is all available and seeing is believing so why not come along and try it out.
